Peebles High School
Peebles High is a state comprehensive school within the area run by Scottish Borders Council.
There are approximately 1200 pupils and 80 teaching staff. The buildings are a mixture of old and new - the 1936 Block, the Tower block of the 1960s and the new Millenium Building completed in 2000.
The school is proud of its wide range of extra-curricular activities which includes foreign exchanges with France, Germany and Finland, History study trips to the battlefields of France and Belgium, rugby and hockey tours to Canada, field-study trips to Iceland, a residential camp for first-year pupils, an Outward Bound Course for students entering the final year and many others.
The main sports are rugby, hockey and football but other sports include swimming, volleyball (last year's Scottish Champions!), basketball , badminton and athletics.
The students of Peebles High School achieve excellent results in the Scottish Qualifications Authority's examinations at Standard Grade, Higher Grade and Advanced Higher Grade.
