I came to this project after completing 2 successful Lingua-E Joint Educational Projects (JEP) with a school  in Vammala, Finland in 1998 and 2000.

Since my subject is Business Studies,  "Local Industries" was chosen as the project topic and the 2 exchange visits were completed in August and December of 1998.  

A second Lingua-E exchange was proposed and another preparatory visit was arranged for August 1999.  For this second Joint Educational Project,  "Sustainable Development" was chosen as the topic and a second exchange took place in 2000. 

The 2 schools decided to extend  their link by applying for funding for a "Comenius 1 Schools Project" along with a school from Germany (an existing exchange partner with the Modern Languages Dept) and a school from Italy with which contact was made at a partner-finding seminar in Maastricht, Holland.

My main interest concerns the use of ICT in learning and teaching and this project gives me an opportunity to learn more in an exciting international context.  The ultimate aim is to have close collaborative links between the partner schools through the use of e-mail, a forum page on a web site and video conferencing.
