Rooms
A Room Of My Own
In 1929, Virginia Woolf wrote her famous book ?A Room of One?s Own?. We read an excerpt from it in class in which she describes why Shakespeare?s imaginary wonderfully gifted sister Judith wouldn?t have had a chance to become famous ? being a woman and not having a place of her own.
We then discussed the importance of having one?s own room, students wrote short essays. Each student then had a photo taken of himself in his room, just one. Showing them in her favourite place. They also characterised themselves using the letters of their Christian names.
As soon as we have the other school presentations, we will compare and discuss whether our partners differ much from us or whether we are all very similar in Europe.
