Ostfildern is situated about 15 km southeast of Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg.  This area offers, besides jobs (who doesn?t know DaimlerChrysler, Porsche, Bosch ?), a lot of cultural venues with its opera, theatres and art galleries.  Within reasonable distances there are places of interest like the ?Schwäbische Alb? and the Black Forest.  And of course, best Württemberg wines.

The people living here are called Suabians, they speak their own dialect (?schwäbisch?) and are renowned for being meaner than Scots.
